An Organized Barter Exchange
By joining Barter Systems, you will be part of one of the oldest barter
exchanges in
America. BSI and our staff of experienced trade brokers will help you
make connections with
some of our thousands of business owners so you can earn trade dollars.
And then when it comes time to use your trade dollars, BSI can help you
locate
merchandise and services that you want and need.
Listing your business in our
Members Directory
After you join Barter Systems, you will be added to our member
directory. You can be
listed in ALL of the more than 700 business categories that pertain to
your business. This will
help all or our trade brokers and members find you.
Access to our Members only
sections for Networking
We are continuing to enhance our Members Only sections to make it
easier to know what
is happening and planned within our exchange. This is so you may get
increased interest in your
products and services, as well as locating what BSI members offer what
you are in need of.

You will be able to search for BSI members by
Business Name (or partial name), City, Zip,
Phone, and/or Category see

Calendar of Events
BSI holds quarterly networking events and a
yearly holiday gift show, where you can meet
some of our members in person. You will be able to access the details
online.
Interactive Bulletin Board and Classifieds
Post and read messages between members!

Barter Chat.

Here you will find PHOTOS, descriptions and

Access to our
Members only sections for Accounting
Members have access to an additional section
for the following purposes:
Account Information
This screen will allow you to see a summary and more details of the
trade sales and
purchases you have made during the current month and year. You can also
see your current
balance, similar to a savings account.
Online Trade Authorization
When you sell something, you will have the
ability to enter a transaction into our system.
This will allow you to charge your buyer for the purchase so that trade
dollars will leave the
buyer's account and go into your account; you will have additional
trade dollars to make
purchases.
Additional Info
BSI Membership Card
Members will receive a membership card that
will allow you to make purchases, similar to
using a credit or debit card.
Accounting
Members receive monthly statements that detail
the monthly transactions and your current
trade balance, similar to a monthly checking account statement.
IRS Compliance
Bartering is a taxable activity. Making
eligible business purchases through barter is taxdeductible.
BSI provides IRS-compliant 1099 forms.
Ethics
BSI adheres to international bartering
guidelines. If you feel any of our members may not
be trading ethically, please report them immediately to BSI.

Your BSI Trade
Broker
You will be assigned a BSI trade broker when
you become a member. Your broker's role is
to help you find and facilitate trades (sales and purchases). You and
your broker should stay in
frequent contact. Keep your broker aware to promote you when you are
looking for more trade
business. Ask your broker to suggest what members may be best able to
fill your needs when
you are looking for products and services.
Mailers
BSI can send your postcards, letters and
flyers out to our members for a nominal fee. This
can be a good way to let your members know more about you.
Free Weekly
Newsletters
Our newsletter primarily includes products,
services and special promotions our members
are currently offering. Each Friday, we email or fax our weekly
newsletter to our members. You
may submit newsletter ads to your broker or simply call and ask your
trade broker to include you
when you want to encourage business.
